Email just the way you like it—now on Mac

About us

We believe in the power of meaningful communication. We believe that connecting people through email must be frustration-free to be effective. We believe in empowering people with the flexibility to turn their simple inbox into an efficient workspace. Our journey started on the beautiful island of Bali in 2012. From its humble beginnings and lofty goals, Mailbird quickly grew into a leading email app—with over 4M downloads to date and approximately 25M emails read and received per month. Mailbird's perfect blend of form and function continues to reinforce our commitment to enhancing user productivity and simplifying digital communication. As pioneers in remote work, we embraced a global team culture long before it became mainstream. This remote-first approach allows us to meet amazing people worldwide, fostering a vibrant and inclusive work environment. These efforts earned us multiple Stevie Awards in 2023 and 2024, celebrating our focus on global company culture, employee lifecycle impact, DEI&B, and remote workforce management.

  • Six accounts in one inbox. By 9:30am they all blur together. The reply from your most important client looks the same as a marketing newsletter from your personal Yahoo. They are not the same email. Mailbird gives every account its own color. Business in blue. Personal in green. The Yahoo from 2009 in gray. One inbox. Six color-coded accounts. Zero accidentally-replied-from-the-wrong-account moments.

  • The email arrives at 9:14am on a Monday. It is not a 9:14am-on-a-Monday email. You don't archive it. You don't reply. You snooze it to Tuesday at 10am. Tuesday at 10am, it lands on top of your inbox. You handle it in four minutes. Snooze isn't procrastination. It's right-place-right-time. Hit Z in Mailbird. Pick the time. Move on.

9:41am. You're on a call. Your boss asks if you got the contract from the new client. You did. It's in your Yahoo from 2019. Your Yahoo password expired in 2020. Account recovery is asking for your high school's mascot. You went to a charter school. There was no mascot. Your boss is still on the line. One window. One search bar. Every account.

  • Email tools spent the last five years optimizing for the wrong window. The phone is for triage. The laptop is for the actual reply. Nobody writes a contract on their phone in line at the coffee shop. They write "sounds good!" and forget about the contract until 9pm. The desktop isn't a fallback. It's where the work actually happens. Built for that window.

The sidebar. That little strip on the side of the inbox where Calendar, Asana, WhatsApp, Google Keep, and 25 other apps live without opening a browser tab. You read your email. You glance. You see the meeting that starts in 8 minutes. You did not need a productivity course for this. You needed an inbox built for a desk.

  • Inbox audit, end of week one: – 12,847 unread – 3 actually need a reply – 1 from your boss with no subject line – 47 Slack notifications about emails – 2 "just circling back" from the same person We can't fix the people. We can fix the window you read them in.

  • Email accounts the average freelancer is currently logged into: → personal Gmail → business Gmail → a client domain alias from 2022 → an abandoned Yahoo still receiving order confirmations → that one Outlook account with the misspelled name → the Apple ID nobody remembers signing up for Six tabs. Six unread counts. Six places a contract could be hiding. Or one window. Up to you.
