Great to host Nine News in Port Hedland this week and give them a first-hand look at some of our new battery-electric #locomotives. 🚆🔋 #Decarbonising our operations isn’t just about putting new technology on the tracks – it’s about building the capability around it. New skills, new infrastructure, and new ways of working. The #Pilbara is a tough environment and our rail network topography is unique, which is exactly why testing these locomotives here matters. It’s how we ensure this technology performs safely and at scale. I'm proud of the team-of-teams working together to deliver this - whether that's our Rail and Decarb teams here in Western Australia or our technology partners across the globe - together we are keeping our progress on track!⚡️ BHP Tim Day Ben Gilkison Corey Boreham Dave Kelso Peter Thomas Colin Kerelchuk

Supporting the reduction of greenhouse emissions in the maritime value chain. Last July, we signed contracts with COSCO Shipping Bulk Co. for the charter of two ammonia dual-fuelled Newcastlemax bulk carriers. These vessels will be two of only a handful in the world capable of using ammonia as a marine fuel. This represents an important step towards lowering shipping greenhouse gas emissions in the iron ore seaborne market and moving the maritime sector towards a decarbonised future. 🔗 to learn more in the comments. #BHP #Maritime #Decarbonisation

As the world transitions to a lower-carbon future, copper will play an increasingly vital role in the technologies and infrastructure that support the energy transition - such as electric vehicles and renewable energy systems, including wind turbines, solar panels and battery storage. We produce resources that are essential to this transition, and we are committed to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions generated from their production. 🔗 to learn more in the comments. #BHP #Copper #Decarbonisation

At our Jansen mine in Saskatoon, we are redefining what's possible underground. We made two 8.5m wide and 34m high excavations for our raw ore bin, removing more than 5,500 tonnes of rock safely and efficiently. Completed in just 24 days, this industry-first approach delivered a ten-storey opening from the bottom up, significantly faster and safer than traditional methods. The Potash from our Jansen mine is expected to produce approximately 10 per cent of the world’s demand by 2031. #Jansen #Innovation #Potash

Creating jobs. Building skills. Supporting communities. BHP’s total direct economic contribution for FY2025 was US$46.8 billion. This includes payments to suppliers, wages and benefits for over 90,000 employees and contractors, dividends, taxes, royalties and voluntary investment in social projects across the communities where we operate. The world needs more of the materials we produce to develop, decarbonise and digitalise. We remain well positioned to sustainably meet this demand and create long-term value for our shareholders, local communities, customers, suppliers and partners. There is an engine of improvement that revs faster and faster each day at BHP. It’s fuelled by the ingenuity of our people, and I’m excited to see how much faster our teams can make it go with the help of AI in the years to come. I saw this in action on my recent return to our Integrated Remote Operations Centre in Perth. The team is using computer vision and AI to reduce the need for unplanned maintenance, improve our product quality, and keep our iron ore flowing to customers. The AI scans the more than 300 tonnes of material that move along the conveyor belt every minute looking for oversized rocks or contaminants. It quickly and accurately detects material that can cause serious damage to our equipment of affect product quality landing at the port. Once detected, our operators in Perth can trigger a 15-minute pause and work with our site team to safely remove any contaminants – avoiding tears in the belts that have been known to shut them down for up to three days. This is a simple but powerful system that delivers clear benefits on safety, productivity and quality. It highlights the immense potential of AI to help our teams accelerate the rate of improvement across every part of our supply chain. And it’s another way our Western Australian Iron Ore team contributes to BHP’s relentless drive for operating excellence. Thank you to Ryan and Renee for taking me through it.

Port General Manager Dan Mossman and his marine team oversee one of the world’s most complex channel systems. 🚢 In Western Australia, our port operations handle nearly 2,500 vessel movements each year. Through a clear focus on simplification, capability development and commercial rigour, Dan and his team are driving strong production gains and cost efficiencies. Over the past nine months, BHP has achieved record iron ore production at Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO). Our iron ore business includes integrated iron ore mines, rail and port operations in the Pilbara. #BHP #Leadership #IronOre
