Is It Just Me, Or Do My 16 Disney Sequel And Spin-Off Ideas Sound AMAZING????

Big Hero 6 already has a follow-up animated TV series (Big Hero 6: The Series) and a spin-off (Baymax!), but an additional sequel film could be worth pursuing if Disney is interested. The world of Big Hero 6 is so large that it would be easy for writers to continue the story of the titular superhero team and the lovable Baymax. If Disney were to explore a potential sequel, may I suggest that the writers consider bringing Tadashi back in some shape or form? More than anything, I just want to hear Daniel Henney voice Tadashi again.

This suggestion should be taken very seriously. Doc Hudson’s story as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet needs to be told! What better way to honor the three-time Piston Cup champion than with a film of his own? They do touch on his past in Cars 3, but a more detailed story showcasing Doc’s journey from racer to small-town doctor would be so fun to watch. Plus, seeing the cars from the '50s era come to life would make this origin story stand out even more within the Cars franchise.

Another potential Cars spin-off that I’m sure many fans, like myself, would like to see is a Finn McMissile adventure. I can totally imagine a film where a retired Finn McMissile is pulled back into the world of espionage for one last mission, with fellow agent Holley Shiftwell by his side. Not to mention, getting Sir Michael Caine to come out of retirement himself to reprise the role would be a dream. While one can only hope, bringing him back seems highly unlikely. I guess an origin story of a younger Finn McMissile before he became the famous British spy car could work, too.

Apparently there was a Treasure Planet sequel or TV series in development, but unfortunately, those plans were scrapped due to its poor box-office performance. However, now that the film is being recognized as a Disney cult classic, there could be enough appreciation to warrant a follow-up. While fans might prefer to keep the original as a standalone film, I would be interested in seeing a TV series or film continuing Jim Hawkin’s journey as a cadet at the Interstellar Academy. Also, a Jim and John Silver reunion needs to happen ASAP.

Meet the Robinsons was such an underrated gem. Unfortunately, it was considered a box-office bomb, so any hopes of a sequel were thrown out the window. Even though it’s unlikely to get a sequel film, I feel like a series of shorts could work. The premise could be Lewis creating a unique invention in each episode and the shenanigans that come with them. I believe Disney can “keep moving forward” and develop a cool Meet the Robinsons series for this new generation.

With Tiana’s Bayou Adventure now open at Disney World and set to debut at Disneyland, Disney should capitalize on this newfound excitement and release a The Princess and The Frog spin-off. And who better to lead this spin-off than our favorite trumpet-playing alligator, Louis? Seriously, imagine all of the hijinks that Louis could get into in the Louisiana Bayou! Not to mention all the Jazz we’d get to listen to along the way.

This is a film that is 100% going to happen. I’m just upset that it hasn’t happened yet. It’s been over eight years since the sequel and almost 20 years since the first film, so one would think Pixar would have had something in the works by now. Instead, they decided to announce Incredibles 3. Wrong sequel to focus on aside, a third Finding Nemo film exploring even more parts of the ocean unseen would be amazing. Another idea would be to focus on the stories of the sea turtles, spreading more awareness around these beautiful reptiles of the sea. Fins up if you’re down for a "Finding Squirt" film to finish the trilogy!

Raya and the Last Dragon should have been a great film, but sadly, it never got the appropriate acknowledgment it deserved. Even though the film wasn’t a huge success, I believe more adventures of warrior princess Raya and dragon Sisu can be told in the form of a TV animated series. Imagine all the quests Raya could go on as she tries to keep the peace through a newly reformed Kumandra. If Tangled was able to get a TV series, Raya and the Last Dragon deserves one, too.

This film was a Pixar classic that seems to have been completely forgotten by audiences. Despite being largely overlooked, it clearly had some kind of following since it inspired a whole attraction at Disney’s California Adventure Park and Disney World. Now that these attractions are no longer in service, I think there is an opportunity to bring A Bug’s Life back to life through a series of shorts on Disney+. Each episode could feature Flik introducing and sharing interesting facts about different kinds of bugs. An educational animated Pixar show about insects sounds like a good idea to me!

Given the success of Encanto, a series or spin-off of some kind will probably happen. It hasn’t been that long since the film was released, so if Disney wants to ride the wave of success, any potential future series should have been in development starting yesterday. There have been whispers of a possible series spotlighting Dolores, but, to be honest, I’m more interested in a series centered around the super-strong Luisa. Regardless of whose story gets told, I would love to watch a TV series exploring the lives of any of the Madrigal descendants.

Wall-E is one of my all-time favorite Pixar films, so a prequel or sequel series of short films following his adventures on Earth would fulfill my content needs. The original film already touches on his time alone on Earth, but it would be cool to see more of Wall-E’s life before Eve or, better yet, from the very beginning when he was first made. What prompted this robot to become a hoarder in the first place? I could also see a sequel series following Wall-E and Eve rebuilding colonies with humans on Earth and getting into all sorts of trouble.

Oh, how I wish for this to come true. Mo is the best cleaning robot in the galaxy! This small but mighty bot made such an impact in Wall-E and deserves to be the hero in his own series. I would love to watch a series of shorts following Mo’s obsession with fulfilling his duty of sanitizing everything in his path. I’m already picturing all the different kinds of obstacles this guy will face and the hilarious, wacky solutions he has come up with to achieve his goals. Let Mo get his little neat freak on!

Rutt and Tuke, the comedic moose duo, were definitely one of the biggest highlights of the Brother Bear films. Their popularity is largely thanks to awesome voice acting performances by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas. The chemistry and comedic timing between them is so good that a spin-off TV series featuring this pair of moose brothers would be a fantastic way to revive the franchise. All the silly high jinks these two would continue to get into would make any kid — and grown-ups — laugh out loud. Of course, guest appearances from Kenai or Koda are a major requirement.

I can see the film getting a direct sequel film, too, but in the short term, I would appreciate an analogy series of shorts showcasing more of the Elemental world. For example, each episode could focus on a different character and their daily lives in Element City. Personally, I would love to see more of Wade’s mom, Brook Ripple (mostly because I love Catherine O’Hara). Or who knows, maybe there are even more elements that exist in this world. Could you imagine a thunder element coming to life?

I’m surprised that Pixar has yet to create a series based on the in-universe show that Woody comes from. I know that Woody isn’t a fan favorite character — he’s not mine either — but he is still one of the leads. I can’t help but find it a little unfair that Buzz Lightyear got three spin-offs while Woody has none. It just seems like a great way to continue the Toy Story legacy instead of pushing out all of these unnecessary sequels. Plus, there’s already a premise in place, so why not commit and make the show come to life?

Goofy is one of the honorary members of the Mickey gang, so for Disney not to finish the trilogy and release a third film is such a disservice to the extremely iconic character. What I loved most about the Goofy films was how down-to-earth and relatable they were. Yes, they feature anthropomorphic animals, but the story of a single father doing his best to raise his moody, typical teenage son felt incredibly real. It would make so much sense to conclude the series with a third movie focusing on Max dealing with the challenges of adulthood, with Goofy offering his unique fatherly advice throughout. I need more of this heartwarming father-son dynamic.
