I finally got the Backfire Mini for my daily commute, which is about 1.5km. The battery lasts long enough, and I only need to charge it once a week. I have to cross a drawbridge with some incline, but it's perfectly fine, although I notice a slight loss of torque when the battery is almost drained.
In terms of speed, I don't use the sport mode at all; 20km/h is more than enough for me. I do avoid skating under the rain as it can get dangerous, but on some days with wet pavement, it's still fine. I just make sure to dry and clean everything and ensure the battery plug is sealed.
Overall, I believe it's a good choice for a daily commute, and it's easy to carry if needed, for instance, to switch to another mode of public transport or walk with it.
