Seems like the primary developer is slowly opening up to the idea of adding a widget, if only just at a basic level. Time will tell.

In the meantime, this sounds like a simple concept, but to accomplish it, you would be walking straight into full-on Android development territory, and that's assuming OSS Weather is providing the right kind of information output your widget would need to function. There's no shortage of weather apps that do provide widgets... even if you never use them as an "app". Maybe some that would even let you launch OSS Weather when tapped on.

Just start small. Read through how to install beets and the lyrics plugin. Then choose one album, make a copy of it, and experiment with beets on just that album. Once you get it how you want, try it on a few more albums, then eventually your whole collection.

Well... the bank is not the best example because that's a textbook example of a custodial account. The bank only has to give you "your money" because they are federally mandated to -in the US (up to a limit... over that limit you're screwed).

Can I export my Fastmail Passkey, and import it into my Google Account? No. That will never happen. So that means I don't control the encryption keys.

I can add my self-generated ed25519 public key to a number of web services and devices to authenticate my account using an open standard that is just as secure. Why can't Passkeys just be that? Because of inconvenience to the user, that's why.
