Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2024Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseMuchas Gracias, excelente trabajo. Su plataforma es impecable.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2024Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis book is a really excellent, practical and to-the-point coverage of the mathematical principles behind CFD, and how they are practically applied in actual computation. It is structured as short topics that build on each other. If you've seen the topic before - it's a fantastic refresher on what it is and it's practical application. If you haven't seen the topic before, you may need to research it more widely to deeply understand it - but you have a context of how it fits into CFD.
Henry Weller has created the most incredible platform for engineering with fields om OpenFOAM, and Chris Greenshields is an incredible teacher of CFD as his partner in developing the platform.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2022Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis is an excellent reference source for those using OpenFOAM, but really any CFD code. The authors say they want to present the complex mathematics for CFD in a form useful to engineers, and they have succeeded in that endeavor. The topics presented are parallel to the concepts in the OpenFOAM code. Many of the dictionary entries required for OpenFOAM cases are clearly reviewed in the notes. The section on turbulence is perhaps the most useful in my opinion.
My only reason for not making it 5 stars is the lack of numerical examples. Some examples in the turbulence section would be very useful, to see how to apply the models in actual physical situations.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2022Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis is THE book I have been waiting for that explains CFD, in particular the Finite Volume Method, in an easily approachable format, yet as rigorous as necessary. I won't say it's an *easy* book to read, but it is as easy as one could possibly make explaining computational fluid dynamics. With "maths on demand," the reader will be introduced to the necessary mathematical topics as needed. I'd say a course in calculus would be good, and at least a basic course in fluid dynamics (though one might get away without that). A course in vector calculus would be of benefit, but not necessarily required.
With each topic broken down into two pages, this book is highly digestible, either as a learning tool, or a reference. I wish this book had been written many years ago.

biswaroop mukherjeeReviewed in the United Kingdom on May 8, 20255.0 out of 5 stars very nice book
Format: PaperbackVerified Purchasevery nice book, very informative and precise.
Alex S.Reviewed in Germany on May 10, 20235.0 out of 5 stars Excellent CFD review
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseAs others pointed out before, this book is not a typical introductory course on CFD. Nevertheless it provides an on point and well written summary of many important topics as well as some basic principles and concepts. I definitely gained some more profound insight and alternative perspectives regarding quite a few things. Definitely worth the price.

OscarReviewed in Italy on February 3, 20245.0 out of 5 stars Cristallino!
