Scryfall April Fools archive

Every year on April Fools' day, the Scryfall team has a tradition of putting up a gag to surprise people with. They last a day or two, then go away again. We've started collecting them here for people to see again, and to spill some of the beans on how they were made. We hope you enjoy them!

    Scryfall '97: Web 1.0 edition

Most assets came from resource sites. Our team members made several custom webring images and the Dootscape icon, and a friend of the team provided Tamiyo.

We've made some updates since the live launch. Check the Help menu for full credits.

    Dreadmaw in Dominaria

It's March 2018. Colossal Dreadmaw has just shown up in the last three sets in a row: in Ixalan, in Rivals of Ixalan, and again in Masters 25. Previews for the next set, Dominaria, are happening right now.

Naturally, we had to prank people with a fake Colossal Dreadmaw in Dominaria as well.

We collaborated with April King, who tweeted out an announcement of the preview.
