I received a request to write a review, so I will. Apple TV+ is phenomenal. You guys have done a wonderful job of creating a great brand in such a short period of time. I particularly love the super-intelligent writing on all of the shows and films, the great acting, and the cinematography is stellar and very unique to Apple. I LOVE “The Morning Show.” It’s appointment viewing reminiscent of network television. I’m hoping there’s a chance you’ll bring back “Servant.” I adored the slow pace and build up of that show. I also loved the fact that it was based in Philadelphia, a city that’s so rich in content possibilities. I also love “Home,” which is beautifully done. I want Apple to come up with more programming focusing on African-American, Hispanic and Asian people and characters, but I do NOT want to see one-dimensional, stereotypical, picture-board cut outs. I want to see people of color who are WHOLE human beings who have lives, intentions and motivations that aren’t often seen. In short, LEAD with their HUMANITY and not with their ethnicity. The actors will naturally supply the ethnicity and nuances. In addition, I’d like to see Apple TV+ take a stronger stance against worldwide injustice and the current threat to democracy with more news content and documentaries that enlighten the public. As a (former) journalist and current corporate communications professional, I believe the world needs more of this type of content. In short, great job, but Apple TV+’s best work is still ahead. Apple TV has a good mix original content though I wish they had some licensed content to add more value to their subscription — they did have some licensed movies a year or so ago but nothing of late. I’m really a hardcore fan of sci-fi and their original sci-fi content is vast and superb. My favorite is the low budget DARK MATTER with its mind-bending storyline, and PLUR1BUS’ minimalist approach to the paranoia thriller. FOUNDATION’s first two seasons were just descent but season three was a revelation, and if you haven’t seen it, there’s nothing quite like it in terms of spectacle and production design on both television and the big screen. I have to emphasize how amazing the 4K HDR looks on FOUNDATION — it’s a master class in HDR implementation. There’s not much in terms of sports but F1 more than makes up for it with its amazing events coverage, and by far the best LIVE sports streaming experience on any platform, especially if you’re using the Apple TV 4K. Apple TV doesn’t have the reach of Netflix, Disney or HBO MAX, but it’s a premium experience at an affordable price. The kind of stuff you used to get from Netflix before their shareholders took priority over their consumer base.

The app is great except for a few annoying features. First, if you’re watching a series, the app doesn’t auto-play the next episode when the previous one finishes. I understand this is to save bandwidth for continuous streaming, but it would be nice to have it set by a timer or something else so that you don’t have to re-enter the app to manually choose to play the next episode when screen-casting to a larger device. Second, you have to re-select the captions for every single video. I have to re-start or rewind so many videos because I forget to reset the captions at the start of each one. If there is an option to automatically apply a captions setting preference it is not easy to find. Finally, the app shows a lot of series and movies that are not available on the app. I know they’re trying to encourage connecting other streaming apps to this one, but most of the suggested programs/movies are not available through the app. I don’t understand why they would promote more content from other apps than Apple’s original content (which has been really good, from what I’ve seen so far). Other than that, the app itself is easy to use and pretty intuitive. The picture is clear and it doesn’t freeze up or blitz out if you rewind or fast-forward a video.

Don't advertise to me subscription s just because I'm watching purchased content. I bought the series why would I sub elsewhere also I already am subbed in some cases it just doesn't know that and I get no access to that even if I do decide to access another platform from this app on tv. I've decided to spend a few thousand on this platform To make my first own streaming account be just for me and I love it and I tell others. I dont like how on Roku tv you can't autoplay your bought content and go straight to next episode without need for me again. only appletv subscription gets autoplay even if you buy the ENTIRE SHOW but I DO like how appletv has fair customer support and up to 5x speed to rewind or go forward and it just goes smoothly no extra button pressing. rewind afew seconds, push play on the remote and it's going already unlike others. More things need to be done though for purchased content to play itself because I've never had a platform that can't autoplay a next episode even if the settings and options are there. Good platform overall. needs more. I see potential just do it. I'm going to keep paying because swapping all of my favorite content within seconds and in one app is 10/10 regardless. Just wish there were a few more things on my wishlist I could actually buy whole seasons of like 'Record of Ragnarok' season 2-3 I'd pay so fast. Need more anime. I'm sticking around because I know this app can get better and better. Also my purchased/ my watchlist REALLY needs to be at the TOP of pages it's actually faster to scroll my entire library to find my show again on the phone
