Experience the energy of big band jazz brought to life by the Montclair State Jazz Ensemble, joined by the Vocamotion Vocal Quartet and featuring legendary trombonist Steve Turre. Led by Jazz Studies Coordinator Oscar Perez, this dynamic group of student musicians from the Cali School of Music performs a program that blends contemporary large-ensemble writing with music central to the jazz tradition. Featuring Turre’s compositions alongside works by influential composers, arranged especially for big band, the evening offers a vibrant celebration of jazz across generations.
