Description
The Yale Jazz Ensembles Big Band, under the direction of Wayne Escoffery, celebrates the centennial of the birth of American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and composer Miles Davis. This special concert will feature newly commissioned big band arrangements by Michael Philip Mossman, drawn from Davis’ first two landmark collaborations with composer and arranger Gil Evans—Birth of the Cool and Miles Ahead.
