Welcome to NExSS!

In 2015, the Nexus for Exoplanet System Science, or NExSS, was established as NASA’s first Astrobiology Research Coordination Network (RCN) in order to bring together researchers focused on characterizing the diversity of exoplanets. With expertise spanning all of NASA’s science divisions, NExSS researchers seek to learn how planetary formation, evolution, geology, and climate all interact to create conditions for life. NExSS researchers also seek to accelerate the discovery and characterization of potentially life-bearing worlds in the galaxy.

To date, over 170 teams have been a part of NExSS, contributing to the study of planetary habitability.
