Our students recently gained a firsthand look at the legal field during an Owl Edge Externship visit to Baker McKenzie. A huge thank you to Carlos Linares García and Dorian Ojemen for hosting two of our Owls and sharing their professional expertise during this insightful session. The visit featured a targeted industry talk and an office tour, offering a hands-on perspective for our students. The Owl Edge Externship program provides Rice undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to gain real-world experience, build professional networks, and explore potential career pathways. These powerful connections are a vital part of helping students turn their academic interests into professional action. We are so grateful to the alumni and employer partners who make these experiences possible. We look forward to supporting you as you continue to provide these transformative opportunities for Rice talent! 👉 If you are interested in learning more or hosting an Owl Edge Externship, visit our website: https://lnkd.in/gFupf6jE #RiceUniversity #RiceCCD #OwlEdge #RiceAlumni

🌟 Senior Spotlight: Celebrating the Legacy of the Class of 2026 🌟 As graduation approaches, we’re proud to spotlight an exceptional student leader, Annelie Han (BA in Psychology & Sociology), who has made a lasting impact as the Student Director of the CCD’s Peer Career Advisor (PCA) Program. Since joining the PCA program as a sophomore, Annelie has grown into a deeply empathetic and strategic leader. In her final year, she led a team of 35 PCAs with a clear commitment to fostering student success and community. Her impact will be felt long after graduation. During her tenure, Annelie: ✅ Launched the first-ever PCA Social, strengthening connection and community among advisors ✅ Partnered with the Rice University's Doerr Institute for New Leaders for New Leaders to expand advanced coaching development ✅ Elevated the student voice through targeted surveys and focus groups ✅ Helped shape the Paid PCA pilot, creating a sustainable model to support future student leaders Known for her authenticity, presence, and thoughtfulness, Annelie cultivated a strong sense of belonging across the PCA community and set a new standard for peer leadership. We are deeply grateful for her leadership and the legacy she leaves behind. As she prepares to cross the stage next month, please join us in celebrating her remarkable journey at Rice University! #ClassOf2026 #StudentLeadership #CareerDevelopment #PeerAdvising #FutureLeaders #HigherEd
Senior Spotlight: Annelie Han ’26 has built her college experience around connection, empathy and impact. A psychology and sociology double major, she turned classroom learning into real-world action through community-based work, including supporting patients through the Kinder Institute for Urban Research’s Community Bridges program. Her experiences helping individuals access essential resources sparked a deeper interest in the systems that support people at scale. Through leadership roles across campus, Han focused on building environments where others can succeed, blending human-centered thinking with tools like AI to strengthen, not replace, connection. After graduation, she plans to pursue people-focused work in mission-driven organizations, with an eye toward human resources and organizational strategy. “I’ve experienced what it looks like to create spaces where people feel cared for and empowered. That’s something I want to carry with me wherever I go.” #RiceSocSci #ShapingTheFuture Read More: https://lnkd.in/eaeK2ntB
