AI assistants and conversational search are changing how people look for places. Instead of typing an address or dropping a pin, users increasingly ask questions like: 📍 “Find coffee near the Eiffel Tower.” 📍 “Harold Chicken Shack in Chicago.” The new near parameter in the Mapbox Search Box API makes these natural-language searches easier to build by removing the need for a separate geocoding request before searching. In our latest post, learn how near helps simplify location-aware search experiences built for conversational interfaces and AI assistants: https://lnkd.in/g_tGpCwC #BuiltWithMapbox #Search #AI #Developers #LocationIntelligence

Some BUILD with Mapbox sessions teach you new tools. Others change how you think about building. Join Matt Forrest for a fresh perspective on web mapping — why better data and AI-assisted development are only part of the story, and why thoughtful interface design is what ultimately makes maps useful. Drawing on years of experience building maps for developers, Matt shares practical guidance for creating focused, purpose-built map experiences that put users first instead of overwhelming them with controls. Whether you're building your first interactive map or refining a mature application, this is a session you'll be thinking about long after the event ends: https://lnkd.in/eD9ydxX5 #BuiltWithMapbox #WebMapping #UXDesign

Snap is building with Mapbox to deliver turn-by-turn guidance directly on their newest wearable, SPECS AR glasses. The SPECS team saved weeks of development by compiling the Mapbox Navigation SDK to run natively on-device. This approach allowed them to stay focused on the AR experience without needing to rewrite core navigation logic. Explore how they built it with Mapbox: https://lnkd.in/eXeGhHtV #BuiltWithMapbox #DeveloperTools #AugmentedReality

Join Mira Ala-Kantti at BUILD for this session – 'The future of GL JS: Faster, smaller, smarter' to see how Mapbox is evolving its web mapping library with a new modular architecture. Learn how on-demand loading reduces bundle size, improves perceived performance, and gives developers more control over the mapping features their applications need. If you're building interactive web maps, this is a session you won't want to miss this September. Register for free, explore the agenda, and add this session to your watchlist in the Zoom Lobby: https://lnkd.in/eD9ydxX5 #BuiltWithMapbox #WebDevelopment #JavaScript

Tired of loading features your map doesn’t need? Mapbox GL JS now loads HD rendering capabilities only when they’re required. For maps that don’t use the HD Module, the new modular architecture delivers 10–15% smaller JavaScript bundles, while helping reduce CPU and memory use. HD capabilities remain available whenever the map needs them. Combined with recent rendering improvements, time-to-idle can also be reduced by up to 50%. Upgrade to Mapbox GL JS v3.25 or later and switch to the ESM entry point: https://lnkd.in/d24c3miW #BuiltWithMapbox #DeveloperTools #WebPerformance
