NNERPP RELEASES 2018 YEAR IN REVIEW REPORT
Happy New Year from NNERPP! As we kick off 2019 with the first issue of Volume 3 of the NNERPP Newsletter, we first take a look back at the previous year – an exciting and important year for NNERPP and NNERPP members alike. We released our 2018 NNERPP Year in Review report last month and hope you already had a chance to explore it a bit over the holidays. RESEARCH ALLIANCE FOR NEW YORK CITY SCHOOLS EXAMINES CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PRACTITIONERS
In “Training Youth Development Practitioners to Be Organizational Change Makers: Lessons Learned from the Student Success Network's Continuous Improvement Fellowship Pilot,” Lisa Merrill, Sophie McGuinness, and Camille Lafayette study the pilot of a year-long Fellowship launched by the Student Success Network aimed at helping member organizations use a continuous improvement approach in their efforts to improve students’ social and emotional learning.
PARTNERSHIP FOR EARLY EDUCATION RESEARCH STUDIES EARLY LITERACY
In “Kindergarten Performance in Early Literacy: Student, Teacher, and Classroom Factors,” Michael J. Strambler, Joanna L. Meyer, Clare W. Irwin, and George A. Coleman examine how student-, teacher-, and classroom-level factors predict kindergarten performance in early literacy and reading skills.
UCHICAGO CONSORTIUM EXPLORES ORGANIZATIONAL CONDITIONS FOR HIGH-QUALITY EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
In “Early Education Essentials: Illustrations of Strong Organizational Practices in Programs Poised for Improvement,” Debra M. Pacchiano, Maureen R. Wagner, and Holly Lewandowski, with Stacy B. Ehrlich and Amanda Stein, describe what strong organizational conditions look like in early childhood education settings and how such conditions positively impact the quality of programming. This report was released in collaboration with the Ounce of Prevention Fund.
BALTIMORE EDUCATION RESEARCH CONSORTIUM PONDERS SCHOOL EVALUATION
In “Thinking about Useful School Metrics: Comparing ‘Like’ Schools,” Christopher Wohn and Liepa Boberiene share a new method for districts to evaluate school performance while considering unique demographic and economic conditions.
