In “Teacher Mobility in the School District of Philadelphia, 2009-10 through 2015-16,” Matthew P. Steinberg and colleagues examine the extent and nature of teacher mobility in the School District of Philadelphia to inform district policy around teacher recruitment and retention.

TENNESSEE EDUCATION RESEARCH ALLIANCE STUDIES SCHOOL TURNAROUND

In “Defining and Measuring Progress in Improving Low-Performing Schools,” J. Edward Guthrie outlines three different ways states might consider defining and measuring progress of school turnaround work and examines Tennessee’s progress under each measure.

In “Creating Conditions for Effective State Support for School Turnaround,” Taylor Seale shares how leaders from four key states think about school turnaround strategies and what was learned about characteristics of successful turnaround structures, supports, and teacher training and retention at a 2017 convening on school turnaround.
