NNERPP WELCOMES NEW MEMBER
Join us in welcoming our newest member: Leadership Education for Anaheim Union High School District (LEAD)! Partner organizations include the Anaheim Union High School District, California State University Fullerton, and the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence. LEAD is working to provide a pathway for teachers in the district to attain their Preliminary Administrative Services Credential through the university, with the goal of building an institutionalized succession of leaders with the skills to increase the success of English learner students in the district. Welcome to NNERPP!
TENNESSEE EDUCATION RESEARCH ALLIANCE EXPLORES TEACHER RETENTION AND SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT
In “Exploring Turnover and Retention Patterns Among Tennessee's Teachers of Color,” Amber Ravenell, Jason A. Grissom, and Brendan Bartanen examine differences in teacher turnover rates among White and Black teachers in Tennessee and how individual, classroom, and school characteristics predict turnover among teachers of color.
In “Guiding Principles for Improving the Lowest-Performing Schools in Tennessee,” Gary T. Henry, Lam Pham, J. Edward Guthrie, and Erica Harbatkin outline five guiding principles for state efforts to turn around low-performing schools based on an examination of several years of research on school reform.
REL NORTHWEST STUDIES PARTICIPATION IN ACCELERATED LEARNING PROGRAMS
In “Supporting the Transition to College: Accelerated Learning Access, Outcomes, and Credit Transfer in Oregon,” Michelle Hodara and Ashley Pierson examine the impacts of statewide investments in accelerated learning on student participation in dual credit, direct enrollment, Advanced Placement, and/or International Baccalaureate programs.
GARDNER CENTER STUDIES EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMMING FOR DUAL LANGUAGE LEARNERS
In “Cultural and Linguistic Responsiveness and Meaningful Family Engagement: Why It Matters in Early Childhood Education,” Kendra Fehrer and Nicole Tognozzi outline how early learning programs can provide quality learning experiences for dual language learners.
In “Transforming Early Childhood Education for Dual Language Learners: A Theory of Change,” Soodie Ansari, Kendra Fehrer, and Nicole Tognozzi provide an overview of how San Mateo County’s Early Childhood Language Development Institute works with dual language learners.
In “Supporting Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Classrooms: A Study of the Early Childhood Language Development Institute,” Kendra Fehrer and Nicole Tognozzi share research findings from a formative evaluation of Early Childhood Language Development Institute programs at two early learning sites, shedding light on how the model works in practice and where the strengths and challenges lie.

It's been a terrific year of important work done by research-practice partnerships across the country, and we are excited to share some of these efforts with you!
