  • Beauty filters have a real problem: Crank one up and everyone looks like the same airbrushed mannequin. Fine for a selfie. Not for a sales call, a webinar, or a talking head you're putting your name on. Skin smoothing in Descript has sliders instead of one blunt filter. Soften the under eyes, ease the forehead, leave the laugh lines where they are, you set how far it goes, region by region. You record normally, then add it in the edit. No makeup, no perfect lighting, no reshoot. Press play to see it in action.

Same format, same edits, every week. The content changes but the work is the same, and still needs a person clicking through, task-by-task. This session turns your production workflow into an automated pipeline you set up once. Then it runs without you with the Descript MCP. You'll leave knowing: ✅Which of your repeatable workflows is worth automating ✅ How to set a trigger that makes clips while you do something else (or nothing) ✅ How to run import, edit, and publish as one pass, no code Automation only works on a workflow you’ve got dialed-in. If you're still fine-tuning, start with Session 1 — that's where you learn to build. This is where you get it to run itself.

  • Make video without leaving Claude or ChatGPT The video you keep meaning to make already exists somewhere. A call recording. A doc. A brief sitting in a tab. Now Descript works inside Claude or ChatGPT. Whatever you're already working on can become a video without opening another tool, and you can hand off the tedious parts and let them run while you do something else. In this session we set it up live and make video and clips from a real recording, start to finish.

  • Remote Interviews: From scheduling to finished cut with one tool The session ends. Then comes the work nobody planned for. File transfers. Renaming. Syncing. Importing. Eventually, finally, editing. And before any of that — finding a time, sending the invite, making sure everyone has the right link. Every recording your team makes pays this tax. The more you produce, the more it costs. This session shows you how teams schedule, record, and edit — client stories, podcasts, interviews, and internal comms — entirely inside Descript, with the new scheduling feature and shared workspace built into Rooms. You'll learn how to: ✅ Schedule sessions directly from Descript with calendar invites ✅ Run clean recordings without a studio setup ✅ Keep your whole team aligned in a shared Rooms workspace ✅ Go from recording to first cut without leaving Descript ✅ Edit faster with separate tracks per speaker

  • Descript reposted this

One of the biggest bottlenecks of consistent content posting is the person making it. Too much time in your head about whether it’s good enough or worried about optimization of every little detail. You know the truth: people watch ANYTHING. Interesting. Soothing. Educating. Inspiring. Demystifying. Entertaining. Relatable. Make them feel seen. Nostalgic. Captivating. Humoring. Even something that’s not that great for your brain. If you can edit your video to one of these in the first 5-10 seconds, someone will stay. Not everyone, but someone. Descript Underlord has helped me find gems in the roughest videos. My rejected YouTube videos have become multiple social clips. The 3-minute video, where I was trying to make a good point that turned into a rambling mess, turned into a highly watched 45-second video. Believe in your process. Please.

Ramdy's second lesson from making videos in one day: the bar was too high. If someone would watch it while eating lunch, it is probably good enough to post. Descript helps make the edit feel less precious, so the video actually leaves your drafts folder.
