The institutes welcomed participants from New Zealand, Oceania, and the Pacific Nations. CLIR Institutes New Zealand was the first international revision and reprogramming of the former US-based Leading Change Institute (LCI).<\/span><\/pre><p>CLIR Institutes Aotearoa was designed for heritage and academic sector professionals, including deans, librarians, and information technologists, who seek to inspire, advocate for, and advance change in today\u2019s increasingly ambiguous and rapidly changing higher education and cultural heritage environment. The focus is to empower all people to lead from where they are in the organization, to effect change and begin the process of removing silos and barriers to dealing with current societal and global issues that span these sectors. The Institutes are deeply rooted in the power of learning from each other. The curriculum reflects this, forgoing structured approaches to managing people in favor of approaches to leadership that recognize and incorporate the skills, expertise, and knowledge of diverse people.<\/p><p>CLIR Aotearoa was led by Elliott Shore, who served as a dean for the US Leading Change Institute since 2012; Charles Henry, president of CLIR; and Fenella France, CLIR Board member and chief of the Preservation Research and Testing Division at the Library of Congress. Judy C. Miner, chancellor of the Foothill-De Anza Community College District in California joined along with other speakers on Zoom.
