The fund balance roll for FY26 activity to FY27 has been posted in July business in account 4999 for operating fund types and is currently visible in the finance dashboard.

This entry summarizes all FY26 revenue, transfer, and expense accounts for each unique combination of entity, org, fund type, and fund source. This entry does not include 100.000000, as that carryover process is done by the budget office. This entry also does not include endowment and investment fund types – the same process will be applied to those at the end of August.

Hello! Congratulations – you’re done with FY26 close! The Controller’s Office is now working to complete our year-end entries. Your net asset balance for FY27 will be available at the end of July.

As we move into FY27 and work towards training everyone to complete your journals in iO using the new method, we wanted to share a quick reference guide to help you avoid some of the more common chart of accounts coding errors we see. Please see Revenue/Expense Entry Coding Tips on our website for some helpful reminders.

Hello! Please double-check that you’re selecting the correct accounting period when creating journals.  Both June and July are currently open.

• For FY26 activity, choose Jun-26
• For FY27 activity, choose Jul-26
• Do not select 13_Jun-26 for any entries

Please note: your beginning fund balance for FY27 will not show up today on July 1.

The June close window is extended, with the final close falling quite late in July. Financial adjustments are due July 15, then the Controller’s Office needs a couple of weeks to button everything up on our end in order to finalize the June balances. Then we can roll forward the balance from the old year to the new year. The beginning FY27 balance will post before we close July business.

You can absolutely initiate transactions in July before the fund balance roll is posted. You will not be blocked from creating purchase orders, paying vendors, charging payroll, or completing expense reports.
