INTRODUCING NNERPP'S NEW TEAM MEMBER
 Meet NNERPP’s newest team member, Kim Wright, who joins us as Assistant Director! Kim was previously at Texas A&M University where she was Assistant Research Scientist at the Education Research Center and also received her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in technology and teacher education. Prior to her work at Texas A&M, Kim spent several years working as a classroom teacher and in teacher leadership positions. Bringing her experiences of working on both the research- and practice sides, she is excited to help lead and expand NNERPP’s professional learning offerings on all things RPP. Welcome, Kim!

Applications are now open for Spencer Foundation’s Research-Practice Partnership (RPP) Grants Program! This porgram supports education research projects that engage in collaborative and participatory partnerships with project budgets up to $400,000 and durations of up to three years.
From the program statement: “This grant program is open to partnerships between researchers and a broad array of practitioners. For example, practitioners might work in school districts, county offices of education, state educational organizations, universities, community-based organizations, and other social sectors that significantly impact learners’ lives. As such, we define practitioners broadly; they might be policy-makers, out-of-school-time providers and other informal educators, K-12 teachers and leaders, or families and other community members. We are open to applications from design-based research teams, networked improvement communities, place-based research alliances, and a wealth of other partnership arrangements.”

TOPIC: A Multilevel Reimagining of Equitable RPPs
We will hear from the authors of a forthcoming article that considers ways an overemphasis on markets, bureaucracies, and professionalism detracts from creating equitable RPPs. The authors also imagine an approach to RPPs that elevates social justice at the institutional, organizational, and individual levels.
Join the cross-institutional team for a discussion of whether these "logics" capture the most significant challenges facing equitable RPPs and whether centering social justice offers a radical enough solution.
