Join staff from AIR, BARR, Network for College Success, Everyone Graduates Center, and the Carnegie Foundation on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 2 pm ET for a virtual event, Introducing the GRAD Partnership: Advancing the Next Generation of Early Warning/On-Track Systems.
The GRAD Partnership is a collaborative initiative that works with school districts and community partners to implement high quality student success (on-track) systems so that schools are empowered to graduate all students ready for their future. The pandemic’s devastating impact on middle and high school students is becoming clearer. After more than a decade of progress, high school graduation rates are down in many states, while course failure, chronic absenteeism, and students’ well-being needs are up. States, districts, and schools need to act urgently to get the right supports to the right students to enable them to succeed in school. Early warning/on-track systems should be a key part of the solution.

TOPIC: Navigating Issues of Equity in University / PK12 Research-Practice Partnerships, Part 1
A key theme across the literature is that RPPs are redefining the research / practice relationship in more egalitarian and equitable terms. However, equity-focused research within RPPs presents challenges to the design principles upon which they are founded. While partners may share an expressed commitment to equity in common, the term “equity” is malleable, and variation in understanding can lead to different framing of educational problems and solutions and potential tensions between partners.
In part 1 of this 3-part NNERPP workshop series, a team from the Metropolitan Educational Research Consortium will share an emerging framework for understanding the dynamics of navigating topics focused in educational equity with University / PK12 RPPs. Breakout discussions will allow for reflection on the framework in relation to the RPP experiences of session participants. Part 2 of the series will follow in June, and the final installment will be a session at the NNERPP Annual Forum in July.
