The call for submissions for American Educational Research Association’s (AERA) 2023 Annual Meeting is now open. The 2023 AERA Annual Meeting will be held April 13-17, 2023, in Chicago, IL and virtually.
Conference theme: "Interrogating Consequential Education Research in Pursuit of Truth."
Submissions are due July 27, 2022.

Spencer funding opportunity:
Applications are now open for Spencer Foundation’s Small Research Grants Program. The Small Research Grants Program supports education research projects across disciplines with budgets up to $50,000.
From the program statement: “Our goal for this program is to support rigorous, intellectually ambitious and technically sound research that is relevant to the most pressing questions and compelling opportunities in education. We seek to support scholarship that develops new foundational knowledge that may have a lasting impact on educational discourse.”
Proposals are due August 9, 2022.

TOPIC: Navigating Issues of Equity in University / PK12 Research-Practice Partnerships, Part 2
RPPs in education are redefining the relationship between researchers and practitioners in more egalitarian and democratized terms. However, equity-focused research within RPPs presents challenges to the design principles upon which they are founded. While partners may share an expressed commitment to equity in common, the term “equity” is malleable, and variation in understanding can lead to different framing of educational problems and solutions and potential tensions between partners.
In part 2 of this 3-part workshop series, a team from the Metropolitan Educational Research Consortium will continue to lead us in discussions on an emerging framework developed to illustrate the factors that influence equity-based RPP work. We will explore the challenges of developing a shared language of equity across an RPP, the unique power imbalances that arise related to equity-focused RPP work, and more.
